Skills for a digital age for Uganda’s young creatives: three studies

Digitalization is reshaping the creative and cultural industries, redefining how creativity is conceived, shared, and consumed. In this era of digitalization, young creatives find themselves at the forefront of navigating a transformative shift. This report therefore explores how young people in the cultural and creative industries in Uganda are navigating and adapting to digitalization-driven changes, particularly regarding how they are developing and acquiring skills for a digital age. The study was conducted by Caribou Digital in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

Uganda’s culture and creative industries in a digital age: A landscape review

This is a literature review that frames Uganda’s culture and creative sector in a digital age. It covers how the industry responds to digitalization, what skilling initiatives exist to skill creatives for a digital age and what sort of economic, social, and political environment creatives operate in.
