The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub is a pilot programme, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and hosted by Elrha, that seeks to identify the biggest challenges within and opportunities to address global humanitarian responses. The objective of this report is to provide a consolidated view on the current use of satellite applications in humanitarian settings. Satellite applications are digital services and products that serve several functions for society, the environment, and the economy. UKHIH selected a consortium of organisations to author this report, including Caribou Space, Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC), and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
