The https://www.eo4sd-forest.info/ project, financed by the European Space Agency (ESA), is supporting the World Bank in the Republic of Congo in coordination with the Centre National d’Inventaire et d’Aménagement des Ressources Forestières et Fauniques (CNIAF). This involves the extensive use of Earth Observation (EO) data for the national Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+) Emission Reduction Programme (ERP). This application of EO is playing a critical role in providing improved deforestation assessments through timely monitoring of canopy disturbances and forest biomass estimation in the Sangha-Likouala region.
