Carlotta Maucher is Program Analyst, Space & Climate at Caribou Digital and is interested in the role of consulting in bridging the gap between space and sustainability. Carlotta works in the Caribou Space team, focusing on the use of satellite earth observation data for sustainable development. She completed her Masters of Public Administration in Innovation, Public Policy and Public Value at the University College London. During her masters, Carlotta worked with the UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult to create a roadmap for mission-oriented innovation for the space sector in the UK. She developed a Space-SDG map pointing to the ways in which satellites contribute to the SDGs to help harness the use of satellites for sustainable development. Carlotta has research experience working on path-breaking sustainable development policies, including a project that aimed to create the world-first SDG-oriented tax system in Biscay, Spain. Here she led the development of the demographic contribution areas, focussing on gender equality. She is German, grew up in Spain and spent a large part of her life living in the UK. She is currently based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
