Senior Director at Caribou Space
David is a Senior Director at Caribou Space and was a co-founder of the DFS Lab, an early-stage incubator that supports high potential entrepreneurs launch fintech businesses in developing countries. His career has focused on using space, mobile, internet and renewable energy technology to address challenges in developing countries. David supports the UK Space Agency International Partnership Programme, a £150 million fund to use space technology to benefit developing countries. David also supports ESA’s Earth Observation for Sustainable Development programme, defining its future strategy and plan. Previously David led research for USAID and the Digital Impact Alliance on their paper, “Closing the Access Gap: Innovation to Accelerate Universal Internet Adoption”, and managed an online community to build links between the space industry and developing countries for Satellite Applications Catapult. David was Senior Director at GSMA Mobile for Development supporting the department’s growth from a four to a 75 person world‐leading team with over £50 million in funding. David founded and led the following initiatives: Connected Society, GSMA Intelligence, Mobile for Development Intelligence, Mobile for Development Utilities & Green Power for Mobile. David has a 1st class BSc in Science and Management from Leeds University. He is currently based near Geneva.
