Measurement & Impact Manager

Hanna is a Measurement & Impact Manager at Caribou Digital interested in creating systems that encourage experimentation and innovation. Prior to joining Caribou Digital, Hanna worked on a number of monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) systems to support rigorous adaptive management in uncertain or complex contexts. She led the MREL workstream of a 6.5-year inclusive finance programme tasked to support digital services innovation for rural customers in Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia. In addition to systems design, Hanna is interested in practical tools that can support data-driven decision-making. She contributed to the development of an application to integrate spatial data into strategic planning and operations of financial services providers, and led the development of a web portal that allows product development teams to create data-driven customer personas based on publicly available demographic and health data in Nigeria. As a researcher she worked on numerous impact evaluations using a range of methods and instruments including rigorous experimental design and exploratory qualitative methods. Hanna holds postgraduate degrees in Economics and Sustainable Agriculture, and is a PhD candidate at the University of the Witwatersrand where she examines technology diffusion in smallholder agriculture. She is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
